We have been requesting participation in the planning process of this project for 2 years, before plans were drawn up. In spite of our many written and verbal communications with Mayor and Council, federal and provincial officials, as well as City Planning staff, and our attendance at several meetings, we feel our concerns have not been seriously addressed. To speed up the process and allow for the early start of construction, we requested that, before being referred to a hearing, the project be modified to reflect the neighbours' major concerns. However, the original rezoning application was referred by City Council to a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 7:30 pm. If a rezoning application is approved at a hearing, no appeal is allowed.
